Maurice Lacroix Aikon Venturer dive watch
Ince super underestimates the quiet demise of the Pantos Diver, and I've been waiting for the acute Le Méridien to fill the gap in its product line with a proper modern dive replica watches for sale. Before Baselworld 2019, we are doing this in the form of an extension to the Aikon sports watch line (called Venturer). This is the first official addition of automatic Aikon, mixing existing key design signatures with some new elements to produce a brand new, more powerful watch.
One thing that makes the automatic Aikon very unique (hands-on here) is that it combines modern design and beautiful dial aesthetics with a sleek case that is actually water-resistant to 200 meters, which makes it surprisingly smart The choice of sports luxury has far more capabilities than many of its peers. Although Aikon has traditionally made aesthetic criticism similar to Royal Oak after several weeks of exercise in the gym, upon closer inspection, it turns out that very few elements are actually as derivative as suggested in the comment section. But for those incomparable, the new Venturer is just an Aikon case and bezel-almost every aspect of the watch has been modified to better serve as a diving watch.
Venturer is an important watch for Maurice Lacroix because it not only brings a torch to the brand's iconic sports watch collection, Jacob & Co Astronomia Solar Baguette AS800.40.AP.YK.A,but also gives watch fans another reason to think that Aikon is an important replacement for Swiss sports watches with the same price, Oris And Longines. However, although the aforementioned ones generally tend to be more classic, the design language of Maurice Lacroix is firmly set to "modern". That's not a bad thing; hardly any precious brand deviates from its mid-century logo, which keeps MLX completely in a unique area.
As mentioned earlier, the new Venturer uses a stainless steel case similar to the three-handed Aikon self-winding device, but its size has been increased to 43mm, and 100 meters of water resistance has been added, making this diver's air pressure 30atm, or Water resistance of 300 meters. The case is slightly flat and rectangular, and is most unique due to its super-comfortable downward-curved lug design. Thanks to its interchangeable strap system, an integrated rubber strap or five-chain bracelet can be easily installed. The fixed round bezel with six raised ten-minute "claw" marks has been replaced with a unidirectional rotating diving bezel with a similar appearance, high in height, with jagged edges, and equipped with a ceramic dial. There are graduated diving scales in the first 20 minutes, and a greased nib is applied at 12 o'clock. But the biggest change of Venturer is the dial, which skips the recognized nail-like nail pattern on the traditional Aikon watch, and adopts a smooth, sunny appearance, which can play aquatic inspiration well. The hour markers it uses are round, but each marker has a deep rectangular cutout that clearly reflects the long glowing stripes on the sword's hand. This interaction between curved and straight surfaces echoes a neat theme throughout the Aikon range, and it's cool that MLX designers managed to incorporate it further into divers. After all, there are only a lot of ways to implement a classic water watch, but what the adventurer has done is visually distinctive without shaking the dive boat too much (unlike "Calypso", which was formerly the 1990s).
Unlike the wild new Aikon Mercury, which showcases some interesting interior design movement innovations, Venturer uses the much more standard Sellita SW200 (Maurice Lacroix calls it ML115 movement), a three-pin date movement , Hidden under the engraved case, beats at the familiar 4 Hz.
